"Tenon jointing" and "glue jointing" of wooden furniture jointing methods
Wooden furniture is usually composed of several parts assembled according to the requirements of the design drawings through a certain joint method. The connection between the components is called "jointing" and has a technical name called "joint". There are several ways to join wooden furniture products, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The choice of joining method is an important part of the structural design of furniture. Whether the joining method is appropriate or not has a direct impact on the appearance quality, strength and processing of furniture. The commonly used joining methods of wood furniture include tenon jointing, glue jointing, nail jointing, wood screw jointing, connector jointing and so on.
1. Tenon jointing
Mortise and tenon joint is a traditional and ancient way of joining wood furniture, which still has considerable application in modern furniture manufacturing. A tenon joint is a joint consisting of a rod head and a mortise or tongue groove. The parts are squeezed by the tenon and tenon, and the joint strength is obtained by glue bonding. Mortise and tenon joint, also known as mortise and tenon structure, is the main structural method of furniture modeling by connecting various parts of Chinese furniture. The various mortise and tenon joints have different practices and different application ranges, but they have the role of "joints" of the shape and structure on each piece of furniture. If the mortise and tenon joints are used properly, the two wooden structures can be tightly fastened to the extent that they are "seamless". It is the basic skill that ancient carpenters must have, and the level of craftsmanship of the craftsman can be clearly reflected through the structure of the mortise and tenon joint.
2. Glue bonding
Glue bonding refers to simply using adhesive to join the parts and components of the product, and by gluing and pressurizing the joint surface of the parts and parts, they can be bonded to each other after the glue is cured. Glue bonding is mainly used for the composition of plate parts, the width, length, thickening of solid wood parts, and the surface covering decoration and edge sealing process of furniture. In actual production, glue bonding is also widely used in auxiliary jointing of other joining methods, such as nail jointing and tenon jointing, which often need to be glued and reinforced. Glue bonding can achieve the effect of small wood and large use, inferior material and wood saving, and can also improve the quality of furniture. The adhesives used in different occasions and different materials are not the same, and the commonly used adhesives in furniture processing are milky white glue, instant glue, urea-formaldehyde and phenolic resin glue.
